In 2025, Fluvius opened a brand new regional office at Kolvestraat 1A in Industriezone Blauwe Toren in Bruges. This new building recently received the A+ label for accessibility from Inter. A great reward for the network company, which strives to create an inclusive and welcoming (work) environment, where both employees and clients can be themselves without constraint.

At the request of and together with Het Facilitair Bedrijf, Inter, the Flemish Expertise Centre for Accessible Buildings, developed \u200b a quality label for easily accessible buildings ten years ago. Initially to make its own buildings more accessible to as many people as possible. But it was also the intention from the outset to eventually make the quality label public, so that everyone could use it. For several years now, the label has been rolled out across Flanders. Fluvius joined forces with Inter in the construction of the regional building in Bruges. With success, as it was recently awarded the A+ label. Because buildings, use and insights are not static and continue to evolve, the label remains valid for five years. It can be renewed afterwards.

A+ quality label for accessibility

Inter awards an A+ label only if the building is easily accessible to as many people as possible. The design tool used by the centre of expertise is comprehensive and detailed, and follows the design and construction process. Workstations, meeting rooms and signage, as well as access paths, parking facilities, doors, stairs, lifts and toilets are all considered. \u200b

A selection of the realisations in the Fluvius building in Bruges: the floor covering is easily passable with a wheelchair; there are no thresholds in the building; there are adapted sanitary facilities, including showers for people with disabilities; there is sound support for people with hearing difficulties; and there are markings for the visually impaired, ... \u200b

Focus on human diversity

Raf Bellers, Netbeheer director: "We joined forces with Inter because we completely agree with their vision. It focuses on the human aspect of building. It is obvious that when we create new spaces and erect or adapt buildings, they can be used well by everyone. \u200b From our social role, we thus ensure that our offices are accessible to as many employees and customers as possible. Moreover, this also fits seamlessly with Great Place to Work, that other quality label we were able to cash in on for the third time in a row last year." \u200b

A+, the standard for future Fluvius buildings \u200b

Accessibility is essential for Fluvius to connect people. That is why the grid company aims to achieve an A+ quality label for accessibility for all future buildings. Through its cooperation with Inter, Fluvius anchors accessibility in its corporate culture, infrastructure and buildings. The two companies are therefore working closely together on the realisation of future Fluvius buildings as is already planned in Lubbeek.
